从The Mechanical Universe上看来的

...this tendency of the flow of time was pointed out by an eleventh-century Persian poet-mathematician, Omar Khayyam, who wrote

The moving finger writes, and having writ,
Moves on: not all thy piety nor wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
Nor all thy tears wash out a word of it.

There have been many other statements of the second law of thermodynamics, but none so elegant.
